Home Grown is a social free company that aims to create a comfortable, inclusive environment both within and outside of Final Fantasy XIV. We strive to enrich our in-game experiences with fun and forge long-lasting bonds in the process! We don't claim to have a specific focus outside of that. What we do shoot for is to do our best in anything we choose to tackle and lend a helping hand to anyone who may need it. New players, crafters and gatherers, endgame raiders—all are welcome as long as we share these philosophies.To find out more, use the links above. — RECRUITMENT —

There are no level or progression requirements to apply! We welcome players of any playstyle, so long as they abide by our rules.Players interested in joining Home Grown are encouraged to submit an application to the FC in-game (this can be done by visiting our house at Ward 10, Plot 22 in Empyreum or searching for an online member) or contact a member of our staff. If you have any questions beforehand, we would be happy to answer them. Either join our Discord to get in touch or check the Contact page for our character names.Joining the free company is taken as an agreement to follow our code of conduct. All members are held to the standards outlined in our rules, regardless of rank. As such, we suggest that interested individuals and existing members alike ensure they are familiar with these expectations.

— DISCORD —

Like most free companies, we utilize a Discord server to act as our out-of-game community hub. Joining the Discord server is not a requirement for members, but it is highly encouraged for those who wish to keep up with events and other aspects of the FC. We also welcome prospective members who would like to feel out our community, as well as friends of friends even if they aren't part of the free company or FFXIV communities.You can join our server by clicking the Discord icon in the footer. — CODE OF CONDUCT —

In order to ensure a comfortable and orderly environment, we have rules set in place that must be upheld by all members, regardless of rank.We function on a three strikes system. After two warnings, a third infraction of the rules will result in removal from the free company. On occasion, a severe enough offense can result in immediate dismissal, at the discretion of the officers.If you witness a member breaking any of the rules listed below, please contact an officer. All complaints will be investigated seriously and carefully.

1. Above all else, treat your fellow players with courtesy, respect, and patience. Occasional disagreements are a given, and we expect our members to handle them with maturity. Do not drag private and personal issues with other members into free company channels.
∙∙∙ Discriminatory attiudes, hate speech, slurs, and so on are not acceptable.
∙∙∙ Harassment, stalking, bullying, and related actions will not be tolerated. Always respect personal boundaries.
∙∙∙ Refrain from spreading too much negativity. Complaints and venting are okay, but do not indulge to the point where it drowns out all other conversation.2. Keep the FC chat appropriate, civil, and free of major and current spoilers. While they aren't banned, be mindful of "landmine" subjects such as politics. If asked to move a discussion to a more private chat channel, do so.
∙∙∙ Do not use FC chat to respond to Discord voice chat. Please utilize either the #voice-chat text channel on the server or a linkshell, party, tell, etc.3. Do not cheat or bring a poor attitude to FC events. These are intended to be fun and fair; while feedback is encouraged, good sportsmanship is just as important. Anyone found to be cheating or acting in a disruptive or discouraging manner will be temporarily banned from future events.4. Do not misuse FC facilities such as the company chest, gardens, workshop, etc. Some examples include: taking items from the chest with the intent of selling them for profit without permission, harvesting or destroying plants not your own, or taking someone else's workshop items. Inability to play fair with FC facilities will have those privileges revoked.5. Do not expect to be waited on by your fellow FC members. No one is obligated to carry or power-level you or provide you with free items. While the officers are there to make your time in the FC more enjoyable, please remember that they, as well as the members, have lives and goals of their own and cannot always drop everything to help.6. Members must be at least 18 years of age unless given approval by the FC leader.7. Egregious behavior that violates the FFXIV Terms of Service isn't condoned within the FC, such as botting, griefing, use of exploits, RMT, etc.

— ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS —

In order to maintain a roster that better reflects our number of active members, we periodically remove those who have not logged in for an extended period of time. This is our only activity requirement; members are not required to participate in conversation and events if they do not wish to do so.Recruits (Rose rank) will be removed after 30 days of inactivity.Members (Marigold and above ranks) will be removed after 365 days of inactivity.Members removed for inactivity are welcome to rejoin the FC at any time and will have their previous rank reinstated. The FC is not responsible for any furniture or other items lost if removed from the roster.

— FC FACILITIES —

FC facilities such as the chest, workshop, garden, and chocobo stables are free for members to use at any time. Here are some guidelines and offerings:Company Chest: Items in tabs 1 & 2 are free to take as needed. Items in tab 3 are also up for grabs but need to be retrieved by an officer. Taking items to sell for profit is prohibited unless permission is obtained. Using the chest to pass items to alts is allowed, but the FC is not responsible if items are left too long and/or are taken by others.Chocobo Stables: We provide food and snacks for leveling and dyeing respectively, found in the company chest. For leveling above rank 10, we provide Thavnairian onions upon request.Airships/Submersibles: To request a particular item from airship or submersible ventures, contact Lunar Heaven. Please keep in mind that it may take several days or longer to retrieve the desired items.Private Chambers: We supply a one-time stipend (300,000 gil) per player that can be claimed by contacting Lunar Heaven either before or after the purchase of a private chamber. We will not cover the cost for alt characters, nor if you wish to repurchase it after choosing to demolish or being removed for inactivity.

Home Grown utilizes several different ranks to best serve its playerbase. Our policy when it comes to ranks is that members should be rewarded for simply being an active part of our community, without having to jump through hoops to get to the perks of membership.Promotions will be done weekly. Recruits who have not logged in recently will not be considered for promotion to full membership. Do not request promotions unless you feel you have been mistakenly overlooked.Members who have a passion for our community and are interested in becoming an officer are encouraged to contact Lunar Heaven. These will be considered on an individual basis.
